One may ask where do Sheriffs get their Authority which is based on Common Sense!

I understand that if I violate this affirmation or betray the mandate, trust or responsibilities of my office, I will have forfeited my right to that office and can be dismissed. I take this solemn affirmation freely, without coercion or ulterior motive, according to my conscience as a sovereign and free living man / woman, under the authority and jurisdiction of the common law and its courts.
